I'm looking forward to the new schools. Chico ISD needs to offer more programs to help the kids to be more well rounded and have more to offer on a college application. They have the money just do it.
I really like Mr. Black. The Admin at Chico has always been friendly with me.
I have had kids in the all the schools in Chico for the past 13 years. I can honestly say that this past year in my opinion both the Middle and Elementary are the best that they have ever been in those 13 years, with little comparison. I think that both Mr. Martin and Ms. Slaughter are outstanding educators. Their approach is a strict, no-nonsense one and that is evident when you're at a school function. The kids appear to respect their authority, and I'm afraid that respect has been absent,in Chico at least,far too long. I say Great Job Ms. Slaughter and Mr. Martin! I don't have one in high school so I can't say much, but I hear that Mr. Black has no control whatsoever. I will say that I am not surprised at all to hear that, nor would I doubt it. I hear that the TAKS scores in high school were VERY low, but that is unconfirmed as well.
