The DA investigating charges of sex with underage Chico students

I saw this in the newspaper and was shocked.
What in the world is going on?
The article didn't provide much information about this.
Four or five Chico high school athletes having sex with four or five underage female Chico students.
Can't these older boys find girls there own age?
Don't they know that this is against the law.
It does not speak well of these boys and it must be embarrassing to their families.
These boys being older should not prey on young girls and these girls should have a little more smarts then that.
I'm glad that some parent is standing up and making these boy accountable.
The girls will always have that label attached to them. It doesn't matter that it is 2008, girls will always have label attached to them for this behavior and the boys will get high fives, a double standard.
Girls must learn that even though the behavior is the same, girls are held to a higher standard and will be look down on even though the boys are looked up to.

What do you think?

i know some will say "those girls did this, and those girls did that" but the truth is there is two groups of people at fault here in my eyes. the boys for doing what they knew was wrong, and the parents of all of these children for not knowing what was going on in there lives. the fact is these girls were minors, CHILDREN. they made stupid decisions and should be held very responsible by there PARENTS.... the boys broke the LAW and should be held accountable by the DA. the PARENTS of both these boys and girls have to live what happened in these CHILDRENS lives. with the exception of one family it appears that the rest of the girls have faced no consequences for there actions. way to go other parents for sweeping it under your own rugs and way to go sick pervert young men!!!!!

I agree, there are two groups at fault here. But my problem is this: The girls get labeled, but the boys are getting criminal histories? Come on now, I don't see how that's teaching the girls anything about their behavior. These boys will be faced with much worse over the course of their lives now that the DA has to be involved. I also do not agree at all with the statement that the parents are at fault for not knowing what's going on in their lives. Teenagers are very sneaky and you may think you know it all, but have no idea what they're up to. I can tell you all day long that I know exactly what mine's doing and where she's at, but do I really? I just think it's a tragedy for everyone involved.

When this ugly situation came up into the public light.... my heart sank.

Why, well because I know these young people and their families and have been friends with many if not all who are involved.

It is very sad how those of you who aren't involved in any way wish to keep the ugly stirring so it will continue to upset and remain the top topic at the family dinner table.

The FaCTS are the same now as they were when all of this was uncovered.

But until you have the FACTS...Maybe you shouldn't fulfill your desire to cause it to smell.

But just take a minute to say a prayer for who ever you have in mind to spread something about.

Blame is a big task to place on others , so get your facts correct before you destroy the lives of so many young people.

May GOD richly bless you ALL....

It is a shame that this has happened. Its an even bigger shame that someone had to call the news station to make this nation wide,SHAME on YOU! These kids and their families have and are going thru enough with out it being on TV and everyone blogging.Reguardless what people have been saying the parents on both the girls and boys are good people. No names should have ever been mentioned, nor should there have been any name calling. It happened now lets pray these families can soon be over this mountain in their lives.
