The Chico Texan Newspaper

What is up with our local newspaper?

Why are there very few stories about Chico in this newspaper?
I find more news about Chico in the Wise County Messenger.

Isn't the purpose of a local newspaper to report local news.
I've noticed several people writing letters to the editor about this.
Why is Alvord sports in our newspaper?
Don't we have enough sports news to write about?
There needs to be more about J.V. football games in the paper. They barley cover it or not at all.
What do you think?
I'm a little tried of it.

I could help but notice in this weeks paper, there was no mention of the the burglar suspect that was arrested in Decatur.

The article:

Decatur police officers arrested a Bridgeport man Sunday, Oct. 26, believed to be involved in a slew of car burglaries that have occurred over the past three weeks in Lake Bridgeport, Runaway Bay and Chico.

Andrew Sullivan, 28, was chased down at around 3:30 a.m. by two Decatur police officers after reports that he was fleeing the scene of a car burglary in Decatur.

According to reports, Sullivan had stolen two firearms and two rings from a car parked in a driveway on South Stratton Street.

Sullivan was charged with theft of a firearm and burglary of a motor vehicle.

A joint law enforcement effort between the Wise County Sheriff's Office and Decatur, Runaway Bay and Bowie police departments resulted in several search warrants and the recovery of items stolen in the past weeks.

No others have been arrested involving the burglaries as of Friday.

The investigation is ongoing.

I also couldn't help noticing that Alvord sports were in our paper again and wrote a short story about their J.V. team.
Ours only got a small caption under a picture. This paper sucks.....

Who is the baboon running this paper?

The Texan has always been a carbon of The Index, but it used to have more Chico stories. That was when Venita Lukens was with them.

You'd think with JD Clark as editor it would be more Chico oriented again.

J. D. hasn't been editor of the newspaper for some time now. He resigned to begin a teaching career. He still submits a weekly column and covers Chico school board news, but that is the extent of his involvement with the paper anymore. He had a pretty good column a while back protesting the lack of Chico coverage.

I noticed in this week edition (05-14-09). The story on the arrested teen, got his age and the date of the arrest wrong. Are kidding me. You are our local paper and you can't even get local info correct. How hard could it be.... So many others (who are not from here) got it right. Even the WCM got it right. Are your reports so lazy that they can't even do a little fact checking. You only need to Google his name to get info. Y'all need to step up your game or get reports that actually work.
Hello is anybody listening to readers.
