Streets and Yards.

Wow,
How surprised I was to find that people had actually left comments.

I am very happy that people are voicing their opinions.
I hope you tell others......

Several people have posted comments on the streets and yards in town.
I agree that the streets are never repaired. Take the street in front of the Elementary school, they dug it up, did their thing and left it a mess. I'm sure it will never be repaired right...
Why doesn't this town ever fill the pot holes or re-surface the roads?

Some posted comments about the traffic in front of the Elementary school. It is a nightmare to say the least. I'm hoping that with the new Elementary school we will not have the same problem. I don't know if the new High school and Elementary school will be sharing a parking lot? God I hope not.

What do you think....

How bout them dragons? I feel terrible for the kids, and fans it's so disappointing going to the games only to loose. Who's to blame and can we get new coaches. We need spirit flags like all the big schools have, on second thought we may not have them since you wave them around when a touchdown is made and if we had some they would just get dusty! I know that wasn't nice but I feel better.

I can see how you could feel that way since you only come for one reason. I know some of those players and the one thing they notice is when people don't come out to support them. We should remember as a town is to support those boys. They are the ones that work hard and give up time for practice's and make sure their grades are maintained so they can play. People get caught up in their hate for the coaches, they forget about those boys who are on the field and feel so bad when they lose. It also doesn't matter what you think as much as those player do. We must remember that we are the smallest 2A school in the district. All those school have far more player than we do.
I think you should wave those flags no matter what.
I'm sick of hearing everyone piss and moan about this, and remember that those boys hear all this talk about them. You can say it is the coaches fault, But it's those boys on the field not the coaches.
So, remember to come and support those boys whether they win or not.
Just show up for them.

I just read the last 2 postings. I have to say even though I do not live in Chico, I do have nephews that play football in a couple of small towns, Ferris & Teague. I think that anonymous is way off base and that Chatty Cathy is more on track.

I feel that it’s very important in sports to be supportive at every level of play, from pee wee to college sports. Kids need to know that they are supported win or lose and that they are not going to be verbally abused from fans. They get enough of that from coaches.

My friend whose sons are players at A&M, say that bashing the players and coaches affect them the most, because they hang with these people regardless if they win or lose.

I come from a family of Aggies and we have not always been on the winning side of the ball, but we always support the players and the team. Players seem to have a way of hearing all of the negative remarks made by foolish fans, but now enough of the positive statements made by the rest of the fans.

Same holds true for you Chico Dragons. Chico, get out there and support these young men and show them what being good spirited means. Give them a good example to live up to and try not to be the vast negativity that can be spewed so easily.

I hope that anonymous never has to hear her son repeat what a foolish parent says in the stands that is disparaging. Because it will break you heart as a parent and it does make a difference in a players’ attitude.

Go Dragons!
